Connotations of TV News Starting Sequences

TV news starting sequences from all around the world often contain all of these elements. Firstly we often see rushing graphics or camera movements in the news which often connotes a sense of urgency and importance. We also see transparent objects, such as a globe, or eyes which symbolises an unbiased and unchanged view of the news which they are reporting from a neutral perspective. Another common feature of TV news sequences is a view of the world from space. This connotes that they cover all four corners of the globe when it comes to finding stories, information and important news. This is then further enhanced by images or videos from different, well known landmarks from a multitude of cities around the world. This amplifies the idea of covering news from every region around the world. Clocks are used to give a sense of urgency, importance and that it's fresh in from the field. Photos Connotation Exercise

Purity We used water in this photo to show purity. The reason for this was because water has strong connotations of purity, life and clean living. We placed the bottle on the grass to also help draw forth this idea of purity. Furthermore, the colour green produced by the grass is often associated with being ECO Friendly , recycling and nature; all of these things connote purity. The bottle is placed slightly on the right of the frame to help give the image balance. The camera angle is level with the bottle. This was chosen because we wanted to avoid giving the perception of power from the angle, whereas, by keeping it level, it keeps things humble . Strength This image shows strength through very literal reasons as well as some hidden semantics. The guy in the photo is lifting weights ,which after repetition, commitment and hardwork, you increase as well as define muscle. This dedication shows that the individual has to have strength in his personality as well as body

1) Secondary research CFS is also known as ME, which stands for myalgic encephalomyelitis.  CFS is a serious condition that can cause long-term illness and disability, but many people – particularly children and young people – improve over time.  It's estimated around 250,000 people in the UK have CFS. Anyone can get the condition, although it's more common in women than men. It usually develops when people are in their early 20s to mid-40s. Children can also be affected, usually between the ages of 13 and 15. It's not known exactly what causes CFS. Various theories have been suggested, including: a viral or bacterial infection problems with the immune system an imbalance of hormones psychiatric problems, such as stress and emotional trauma Some people are thought to be more susceptible to the condition because of their genes, as the condition is more common in some families.
