Connotations of TV News Starting Sequences
TV news starting sequences from all around the world often contain all of these elements. Firstly we often see rushing graphics or camera movements in the news which often connotes a sense of urgency and importance. We also see transparent objects, such as a globe, or eyes which symbolises an unbiased and unchanged view of the news which they are reporting from a neutral perspective. Another common feature of TV news sequences is a view of the world from space. This connotes that they cover all four corners of the globe when it comes to finding stories, information and important news. This is then further enhanced by images or videos from different, well known landmarks from a multitude of cities around the world. This amplifies the idea of covering news from every region around the world. Clocks are used to give a sense of urgency, importance and that it's fresh in from the field.
