  • The low use of light - a lot of the scenes where not exposed properly and this could be because of the limited equipment they had to use. As you can see in the image above, the characters are underexposed because of the poor lighting. However, the casting of the silhouettes makes this shot artistically very interesting  and works well with the action of them dancing.
  • The small cast - they probably could not afford as many actors as they would have liked so had to make use of the ones they had available and reused them for multiple scenes.
  • The small amount of locations- The cast did not move around much and mainly just stuck to the store. This could have been because of how the script was written or that they couldn't pay for the other locations. One example is the wake. You only saw them walk to the door but not actually any part of it inside. They were probably able to shoot that scene without paying for anything however, an inside location, a coffin (to be knocked over) and additional cast would have cost too much.
  • The film editing was very basic as they moved from scene to scene. To show a sense of time passing they would cut to a black screen with a text, as if to represent the start of a new chapter.
  • They also used some very basic props, and it just felt low budget. Nevertheless, it did not deduct from the enjoyment of the film.
All in all, I thought the film was fantastic and the script really helped to give the movie its strength.  I really enjoyed the narrative and felt like they had some really interesting views on life and the mentality of people, (often delivered by Randal Graves).  Another thing which really caught were some of the camera shot and framing of the characters. Despite the low budget and equipment, they made good use of the frames and composition.
