Evidence of low budget in The Clerks
The Clerks is a low budget movie which cost $27,000 and grossed in $3,073,428. Evidence for this low costing movie could be indicated by: The low use of light - a lot of the scenes where not exposed properly and this could be because of the limited equipment they had to use. As you can see in the image above, the characters are underexposed because of the poor lighting. However, the casting of the silhouettes makes this shot artistically very interesting and works well with the action of them dancing. The small cast - they probably could not afford as many actors as they would have liked so had to make use of the ones they had available and reused them for multiple scenes. The small amount of locations- The cast did not move around much and mainly just stuck to the store.
